Groups of 4 or more may find it economical and much more convenient to arrange in advance for a private taxi to meet your flight and take only your group and luggage as soon as it is ready. Private taxis are usually $75 for 1-4 people and $15 each additional person including luggage and can be the difference between catching the next ferry and missing it. The taxi will also call and let us know which ferry you will be on so we can greet you here on St. John. We will bring you up to our Studio to register, have a brief orientation, pick up your rental car, and lead you to your villa!

Taxis here are large vans that hold 8-12 people. The regular public taxis will wait for everyone's luggage and until the van is full before departing and may stop at various St Thomas hotels on the way. The St John ferry is the last stop. The fares run about $12.50 per person and $2-3 per bag.

Larger groups, especially those including many young children, elderly, or impaired guests may wish to arrange well in advance for a private water taxi. Most private land taxis are used to coordinating with the water taxis to ensure a smooth transition if your flight is delayed etc. Availability is very limited so you cannot book too far ahead.
